Some Words to TERRA-Worlds
|
|
TERRA-Worlds is a friendly competition related to Terragen where
Terragen users are invited to send images fitting to a pre-defined
topic. Aside of sending images everybody should vote for the best
images in the current contest, ... except his/her own image!
|
|
|
Who might participate?
|
In general anyone is invited to send in an image, but not
all images will participate in the contest. By a rising number
of users it has become nearly impossible and so there is a new
rule related to this. A jury will look at all images and will
decide which images will be published. The intention is that TERRA-Worlds
should be seen as a Terragen contest focussed on experienced users.
Images with a poor quality, wrong or missing informations and/or subject,
images not fitting the monthly topic, with an invalid format or size and
images which are obviously not the result of an hard work will not even
judged by the jury.
At the 12th of each month the jury will decide about the participating
images (never more than 50 in total).
Mails containing questions regarding the vote of the jury might not be answered.
Who feels not enough experienced may have a look at other
contests.
|
|
The intention of this set of rules is not to block anybody from submitting
an image. But it is simply the only chance of holding TERRA-Worlds alive due to
the steadily increasing number of submitted images.
By that it is hoped that everyone understands this set of rules.
|
|
|
What's the period the contest takes place?
|
TERRA-Worlds is a monthly contest. At the 15th of a given month the voting
starts and at the 12th of the following month voting will end. During this period
of time the published images could be rated and commented. The result of the voting
period will be presented at the 15th which follows the end of the voting period.
Additionally the topic of the next contest will be published at the 15th and
will be available at Submission. Here you will find
a detailled description as well as the guidelines of the next topic.

Who may vote and how to do so?
|
|
In general everybody is entitled to vote... the participants, too. But a
participant is not allowed to vote for her/his own image. Especially newbies try
to do so from time to time by using faked names or by asking friends or relevants
to vote. We check each vote and votes made by unknown persons will be checked
more than others. In the case we may find a defraud and we are able to proof this
the particular participant (and the submitted image, of course) will be disqualified.
Now to the voting procedure... Everybody is allowed to vote once. But up to 4 rankings
could be choosen:
1. Rank - 10 Points
2. Rank - 6 Points
3. Rank - 4 Points
Most Original - 0 Points (just a reward for the most original image)
There is an opportunity to add comments to the voted images and additionally to
two not voted images. At the end of the contest period the points will be added and
the images will be ranked according to the given points. Comments will be placed
below the appropriate images.
