Terragen | Frage: Wie und wo hast Du Terragen entdeckt?
Antwort: In Planet Weekly (small online magazine),
They wrote something about it, including one boring
small picture. That was enough to let me visit Planetside,
where I saw more stunning images. I almost Could not
believe it was just made with a computer. From that
point on I was, and still am, fond of Terragen. This

Terragen bei Dir? ;)
Antwort: Oah, no, I'm not addicted to Terragen,
but it's a real hobby, to me. Side effects are that
I look different to landscapes than before and like
them more, too. I have also the Idea when I take a photograph
I'm looking even more to the composition and light and
so. But maybe that has nothing to do with Terragen.
In every case I'm very interested in nature photography

Antwort: They are very impressed by what they
see, especially the first time (just like I was). | Frage: Was ist für Dich das besondere
an Terragen?
Antwort: Create fantastic scenery's in no time.
(Comparing it with hand-drawing, for example..) You
can create almost endless situations with it, the most
magic images. Every contest (Terracon, TerraWorlds)
I am astonished about the images shown. AND..Terragen
is the most realistic generator of all, and free too. | Frage: Dein favorisierter Terragenstil (Realistisch,

Antwort: I mostly like images that show something
unusual, something new that's never created before (and
looks nice, too ;o). But I also like images that are
very realistic and perfected. | Frage: Was machst Du mit Deinen Terragenbildern
(Wettbewerbe, Galerie, Desktop-Motive usw.)?
Antwort: The main reason is enjoying the result.
But of course winning a contest is nice, too (actually
that's also a result..). | Frage: Woher holst Du Dir Anregungen für
neue Terragenbilder?
Antwort: Mostly by just experimenting, while
(very) sometimes I am inspired by a photo. I also plan
often to make something, which results in 'The negative
situation' of what I planned to make. | Frage: Was fällt Dir in Terragen besonders
leicht (Deine Spezialität) und was besonders schwer?
Antwort: What I can not do, is guessing how
much other people like a render I made. One time I had
sent an image ("Forbidden") to Terracon thinking: "Hoah,
I think I have a big chance for a third place with this
one!" result: 0 votes.. And another image ("Bomb") submitted
on RenderOcity I didn't like much, seemed to be a 'great'

Antwort: Often I like a new creation most, but

Antwort: Euu.. Artists like Kees Veenenbos, Martin
Roes, Peter Kleiner, and of course Armands Auseklis.
And Jeff Quick, Klas Kruse, Bleze, Jun, and let's hope
I have not forgotten artists who also created masterworks..(I'm
afraid I have) They just let me see what can be done
with color, water, atmosphere, scale, etc.. (maybe not
a very clear answer?) | Frage: Mit welchen Grafikprogrammen arbeitest
Du außer Terragen noch?
Antwort: Sometimes Cinema, Bryce demo | Frage: Wie soll es Deiner Meinung nach, mit
Terragen weitergehen? Was erwartest Du von einer neuen
Version?
Antwort: I aspect, in version 0.9, cloud layers,
very slow render time, better water (reflecting everything
and underwater scene), maybe easier savings, better
terrain generation and probably even better surfacing.
I HOPE in the future there will be real "moving" water
(waterfall, river), no 90º limit, real shadow (no triangles),
trees and other vegetation, rocks, planets, stars, reflecting
material (metal, snow), transparent material, and a
lot more ;) | Frage: Wie geht es Dir, bei einem Absturz nach
10 Stunden rendern?
Antwort: The computer had one time this situation,
it was a night render, a movie. It stopped somewhere
in the middle of the night (knowing: frame 244 !!) asking
for a ZIP-DISC ! (famous blue screen) I was not so mad,
becouse the movie was only not finished. A single image
takes not longer than 3 hours (1280 x 960) (I still
use ver. 0.8.11 becouse 0.8.24 is oh, soh, sloooow and
there are no new functions, only small bugfixes) |

Antwort: With Nothing! I'm still a student (21)

Antwort: I like photography. When I have enough
of computing (or have rsi.....) I'll try that, I think.
Further I do other things sometimes like analog modern
art, comic strips (not so much anymore), and 'designing'

Antwort: Yep.. Best I like electronic alternative

Antwort: First I wanted to write nonsense, but
don't stress yourself up with the thought: "I can die
every minute". Just live your life the way it goes.
If there is a heaven everything you did here doesn't
matter because heaven is incomparable with earth. And
if you think there is no life after this, It doesn't
matter because you do not exist and can not remember
anything because you are just are what you was 1 year
before your birth. pfff.. |
